Unique bidiversity
The project focuses on generating carbon finance income from protection of an area of the property slated for conversion to coffee. Phase I was completed in April of 2012 and comprises 660 ha. Total carbon dioxide emission reductions are expected to exceed 268,000 tons over a 30-year period. This amount is calculated by estimating the amount of CO2 removals that can be prevented by protecting this property from agricultural conversion and avoided use of fertilizer.
